Russian Splits on the Reformer

Russian Splits on the Reformer is an advanced Pilates Exercise. With 2 heavy springs on set up as you did in variation one. Footbar foot first. Then press out and in on the carriage 3x. Then holding the carriage still variation #2 roll up into a high lunge. Press the carriage out and in 3x. Then round forward. Put you heel in the crease of the headrest and then close the carriage. Straighten both legs and then press out and in 3x. Repeat on the other side.

Reps: 3-5 each leg. Each variation.

Fine Tune the Exercise: Lift the hip of the leg that is forward to maintain square hips. Stand on that back leg. Never let the knee bend.
